11th Annual Families in Technology Day (May 31)
The New Jersey chapter of the largest organization of African-Americans in STEM industries, Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA), is hosting its 11th annual Families in Technology (F.I.T.) Day on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. This event will encourage students in grades 4 through 12 and their parents to explore the technology arena, and learn the ins and outs from many of the industries’ finest technologists. Held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, the event will include workshops and an inspiring message from keynote speaker, Kevin E. Greene who works for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a Program Director in the Science and Technology (S&T), Cyber Security Division (CSD). .
Taneshia will present a talk: "STEAM in the 'Hood: How Promoting Innovation Can Bolster Community Development/Actions Youth and Adults Can Take To Promote Urban Science (and Arts) Education"

Martha's Vineyard Summer Madness Music Festival and Conference (August 8-10)
The Second Annual Summer Madness Music Festival and Conference will take place the weekend of August 8-10, 2014 on the island of Martha’s Vineyard in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts. This year's theme is "Ladies First" and the festival performers include MC Lyte and Amel Larrieux. Taneshia will be a speaker on the "Building Your Brand" panel on August 9th. State of Black New Jersey (March 28)
This year's The State of Black New Jersey presented by the African American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey will focus on "Bridging the Gap – The correlation between African Americans, broadband usage and the success of the telecom industry, as well as a panel discussion from a diverse group of successful business enterprises." Taneshia is the moderator of the morning session with panelists: Panelists: Marc Beyers, Founder, Rockstar Entertainment; Michael Dennis, President & CEO; Big Green Group, LLC; Dirck A. Hargraves, Esq., Vice President, VOX Global; and J. Alexander Martin, Vice President & Creative Director, FUBU.
